Synthwave Sunday: Das Mortal, “The Curse” (Also: We’re Giving Away Tickets!)

The new music video for “The Curse,” from Das Mörtal’s 2017 album Always Loved, is a whole lot of fun. In true synthwave fashion, it’s a short film steeped in ’80s nostalgia that follows the story of a summer lakeside cabin retreat gone wrong. There’s a chainsaw, lots of blood, a clown, a guy wearing a Jason mask and — as you can see in the video thumbnail below — an innocent looking women brandishing a large knife. In summary: it’s perfect! You probably won’t wanna watch this if you’re heading up to your cabin in the woods this weekend.

Das Mörtal’s first ever North American tour kicks off next month (tickets here). To celebrate, we’re giving away one pair of tickets for each stop — all you have to do to enter is fill out the form underneath the video and hope the Randomness Gods choose your name.
