Video: Nevermore’s Jeff Loomis and Jim Sheppard Re-Join Sanctuary for Seattle Concert
Fans who went to Monday night’s Iced Earth/Sanctuary show at El Corazon in Seattle, WA got a special treat when Jeff Loomis and Jim Sheppard took the stage to perform with Sanctuary. Loomis and Sheppard, of course, were both members of Sanctuary at one point, along with vocalist Warrel Dane; when that band initially broke up, the trio decided to launch a new project, and Nevermore was born. Unfortunately, in this instance, Loomis and Sheppard didn’t perform at the same time (Sheppard played “Future Tense,” Loomis played “Taste Revenge”), which would have made this about as close to a Nevermore reunion as we’ll ever get, too.
This performance was extra-special, of course, because Dane passed away suddenly in December (Witherfall’s Joseph Michael is filling in for these shows). So this current Sanctuary tour is both a tribute to Dane and a farewell.
