Actress Charlyne Yi Accuses Marilyn Manson of Sexual Harassment and Racism
Shocking news you guys: Marilyn Manson might not be a good person.
Sorry. I should have warned you to sit down before I broke that to you. It’s okay. Go ahead and take a minute to cry if you need to.
The revelation comes from Manson’s behavior in public common sense Charlyne Yi, the multi-hyphenate perhaps best known for her acting roles in Knocked Up and on the final season of House. After seeing fans online gripe about Manson’s onstage unraveling in Huntington, NY last week, Yi sent out a trio of since-deleted tweets accusing Manson of behaving impolitely when she met him circa 2012:
“Ugh don’t even get me started on Marilyn Manson. Yes this happened a long time ago — on the last season of House he came on set to visit because he was a huge fan of the show & he harassed just about every woman asking us if we were going to scissor, rhino & called me a China man.”
Yi continued…
“I genuinely hope he gets help.”
… and concluded:
“It’s so triggering to see people come up on the internet who have harassed you. And then when you talk about the incidents you become known as the person tied to the harasser. And that’s just your name from now on. It almost overrides who you are.”
According to The Daily News, Yi “said she was later harassed by Manson’s fans on Twitter, who told her to die and blamed her for the incident she recalled.” Which explains why she deleted the tweets.
I don’t think Manson will respond. I also don’t think Manson knows what day of the week it is or what city he’s in or how all these people got in his room. I’m saying I second Yi’s call for this dude to get help.
Manson is on tour now. I don’t have dates, but just figure out which venue is closest to the local Popeye’s and that’s surely where Manson will be.
