Darkest Hour’s “Enter Oblivion” Video is Appropriately Epic
“Enter Oblivion” is possibly the most epic song on the epic album Godless Prophets and the Migrant Flora, from the always-epic Darkest Hour. In fact, I’d argue that Prophets was the most epic album of 2017, which is saying something, because the year was not lacking for epicness.
This being the case, only the most epically epic video for “Enter Oblivion” could possibly do the song justice. Luckily, vocalist John Henry, who directed the video, recognized this, and revitalized a classic trope of metal videos from the 80s and early 90s: the “dudes rocking out on a mountain in the middle of nowhere” clip. What are they doing there? Who are they playing for? How did they get there? How will they get home? Who knows? Who cares? It looks incredible!
