Former Suffocation/Internal Bleeding/Pyrexia Guitarist Guy Marchais Diagnosed with Cancer
Shit news: Guy Marchais, former guitarist for such revered death metal outfits as Suffocation, Internal Bleeding, and Pyrexia, has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of cancer which originates in the blood. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help Marchais pay his medical bills. According to a statement from a family member:
“On January 19th, 2018, we found out that Guy Marchais was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a blood cancer effecting the body’s immmune system and lymph nodes. This comes just 80 days after his niece was diagnosed with the same exact thing. Although not genetic, lighting struck twice in our family. I’m calling to everyone to donate what you can. Even with health insurance, bills are piling up in the thousands. There are many more tests to be done before starting his treatment plan on February 5th, which includes chemo and possibly radiation. Our family is struggling and could really use your help.”
Marchais himself adds:
“I appreciate everybody’s donation it really means a lot to me and thank you for sharing my donation page please continue to share if you can it really helps today I had a bone marrow biopsy and it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life I got a few more tests this week and then February 5 I start chemo thank you again so much everyone.”
It should go without saying that everyone at MetalSucks is pulling for Marchais. Those of you who can donate should do so here.
