Tool Drummer Danny Carey Guests on the Latest All Souls Track “Sadist/Servant”
I hadn’t heard of stoner rock outfit All Souls until mere moments ago, but such is the spirit of great collaborations: you might discover something new!
And so it is that Tool drummer Danny Carey finds himself in the metal news for the second time today, here with a guest appearance on the new All Souls track “Sadist/Servant.” Revolver, who premiered the track, tells us that All Souls are made up of four vets from the LA stone rock scene: Totimoshi’s Meg Castellanos and Tony Aguilar, coupled with the Desert Sessions’ Tony Tolmay and Black Elk’s Erik Trammel. You’ll certainly hear some of the frenetic drumming for which Carey is usually known on this track, but you’ll also feel him in a much more nuanced way, laying back in the pocket and grooving. Carey’s appearance aside, this is a fun, rocking track; there’s really nothing not to like about it!
