There’s a Cannibal Corpse Song in the New Will Smith Film Bright

Cannibal Corpse make a return to the big screen in the new film Bright starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton: the band’s classic song “Hammer Smashed Face” plays in the background as the two actors are driving in a police car, and is the subject of some humorous dialogue.

The track also of course appeared prominently in the 1994 Jim Carrey classic Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, with the feature widely credited as having helped spread Cannibal Corpse (and extreme metal) to a wider audience. And this isn’t Will Smith’s first run-in with metal, either: his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, infamously fronted the metal band Wicked Wisdom. Will was often seen side-stage cheering his wife on when the band toured on Ozzfest in 2005.
