Video: Clown Sings Dio’s “Rainbow in the Dark,” Completely Fucking Nails It

MetalSucks reader Kayla A. tells us that fellow in the video you’re about to watch is known as “The Sad Clown with the Golden Voice,” was a contestant on this past year’s America’s Got Talent, and first reached internet fame when he worked with Postmodern Jukebox for a cover of Lorde’s “Royals.”

All that’s well and great, but here’s what’s most important: the dude absolutely slays a cover of Dio’s “Rainbow in the Dark” with an acoustic guitar accompaniment. Clowns freak me the fuck out, and sad clowns even moreso, and the juxtaposition of Puddles Pity Party — as this clown is widely known — and his smooth but powerful voice is really something. I can’t decide whether the ghost of RJD would smile or frown upon this performance… but I’m gonna go with smile, because the dude smiled at fucking everything.

Puddles Pity Party is on tour right now. Is the Dio cover part of his act? Unlikely, but if the guy’s show is any bit as good as this performance let’s on it’s worth seeing.
