Watch a Feature-Length Documentary About the Making of Mastodon’s Emperor of Sand
I keep forgetting that Mastodon released Emperor of Sand this year, which kinda tells you how much of an impression that record left on me. That’s obviously just me, though. I think Mastodon basically lost me after Crack the Skye. That’s the last time I remember a Mastodon record really digging into my soul and demanding my attention.
If you, on the other hand, loved Emperor of Sand, you should probably watch the below seventy-five-minute-long documentary about the making of the record. Forty-five minutes of it is collected from the studio videos the band released online during the lead-up to the album’s release, but the other thirty minutes is previously-unreleased footage. Also, what else are you gonna do for the next hour-and-fifteen minutes? Work? Bahahahaha.
Enjoy:
