Video: Ten Pop Songs Covered in the Style of Metallica
Anthony Vincent of the Ten Second Songs YouTube Channel is back with another edition of his patented shtick: performing famous songs in the styles of other well-known but completely inappropriate artists.
This time Vincent, with the help of guitarist Eric Calderone (EROCK), tackles tracks by Abba, Outkast, Britney Spears, Seal and more in the style of Metallica. And as usual, in spite of how many of these videos I’ve now seen, I’m beyond impressed with how well it all works: it’s not just the vocals, which are a deadringer for James Hetfield’s, but the intricacies of the riffing style, the production, etc. If this one doesn’t elicit at least a minor chuckle from you, congratulations, you haven’t a soul.
Also be sure to check out some of Vincent’s other recent videos: metal songs covered in the style of The Nightmare Before Christmas, “Despacito” covered in the styles of Iron Maiden, Slayer, Tool, Motorhead and more and Christina Aguilera, Toto, No Doubt and more covered in the style of Ozzy Osbourne.
