Here’s Tribulation’s Excellent New Song and Video, “The Lament”

Boy, Tribulation’s 2015 release Children of the Night was quite the show-stopper, eh? The album placed in the #1 or #2 spot of one two three FOUR MetalSucks writers, and within the top five of a fifth. I don’t think such universal agreement has ever happened in the MetalSucks Mansion in the 11 year history of this site. And that’s to say nothing of the world at large which fucking loved the album, too.

Here we are a bit more than two years later, and Tribulation are set to return with the follow-up to their breakout effort, Down Below. Today we get our first taste of that album in the form of a music video for the track “The Lament” via Decibel. So how does it stack up?

On first listen, pretty fucking well. The track brings more of what Tribulation do best — make black metal sexy — with the band’s patented mix of galloping rock n’ roll and metal harmonics. The accompanying visual piece, directed by Robert Piel, is appropriately creepy and Tribulation-y. In short, it’s all perfect.
