Indecision Guitarist Justin Brannan Wins NYC City Council Seat
Yesterday’s elections didn’t just turn out be great for liberals — they turned out to be great for extreme music, too.
There was Danica Roem’s election to the Virginia House of Delegates, of course, which was a historic win because Ms. Roem is now Virginia’s first openly transgender elected official and America’s first openly transgender elected state official (and her victory was rendered especially satisfying because her opponent, Robert Marshall, is the human equivalent of stepping in dog shit on the sidewalk)… but there’s also the election of Indecision/Most Precious Blood guitarist Justin Brannan to New York City Council to celebrate!
Mr. Brannan also beat a Republican — in this case, John Quaglione — and will now serve a four-year term representing Brooklyn’s District 43. He replaces Vincent J. Gentile, for whom he previously worked as Director of Communications and Legislative Affairs, and who was forced to step down due to term limits.
Massive props to Brannan on his well-deserved victory. Alas, The MetalSucks Mansion does not reside within his district, but he’s still welcome to swing by and celebrate with us any time he likes.
