The Foo Fighters Have a Premiered a New Song That is NOT from Concrete and Gold
I really like this burgeoning trend of bands releasing a new album and then almost immediately releasing a new single that does not appear on that album. Every band should do this. Release ALL the material! DROWN ME IN IT, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!
Sorry. Got a little carried away there for a moment.
ANYWAY, much like The Black Dahlia Murder last week, the Foo Fighters* have now released a new song even though they just put out a new album like three seconds ago. In this case, that album was Concrete and Gold, and this new song is called “Soldier,” and it’s part of a new series of releases, entitled 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood, all of which will benefit — you guessed it — Planned Parenthood. Appropriately, the exploits the Foos’ talent for penning melodies that are simultaneously catchy and wistful. The lyrics are also fitting.
You can check out the track below or on Spotify. Eventually there will be an actual 7″ release, too.

*First and last time The Black Dahlia Murder and Foo Fighters will ever appear in a sentence together?
