Maynard Suggests New A Perfect Circle Record is Coming in 2018
If only the members of Tool were as forthcoming with information about new album plans as A Perfect Circle. Sigh.
Still! If a recent tweet by APC frontman Maynard James Keenan is to be believed, the next A Perfect Circle album will finally see the light of day in 2018, marking 14 years since their last original full-length release. Worth noting: Maynard is a notorious troll who likes to mess with his fans, but this tweet seems earnest enough, and the troll side of his personality has always been more connected to his role in Tool.
Anyway, the tweet:
Stepping away from @caduceuscellars Bunker & straight into @aperfectcircle tour rehearsals. Gotta learn these new tracks #apc2018 #ineedanap
— Maynard J Keenan (@mjkeenan) October 10, 2017
“New tracks” is certainly encouraging, and #apc2018 is double-encouraging seeing as the band has yet to make any kind of announcement about their plans for next year. So while it’s certainly possible Maynard is referring to more touring, the fact that the band is about to embark upon a massive North American run right now and the presence of “new tracks” and #apc2018 together… it all suggests that a new album is on the way. And we’ll very likely get to hear some of those tunes live this fall.
By the way: we’re giving away tickets to EVERY STOP on A Perfect Circle’s fall tour! Don’t miss your chance to enter.
More as we get it!
