Shining (the Good One, from Norway) Release Upbeat Ditty “Everything Dies”
Shining — the good one, not the shitty unwiped asshole one — are reportedly in the studio and hard at work on their next offering. That won’t be released until Spring 2018, unfortunately, but the band has blessed us with the release of a preview in the form of new song “Everything Dies.”
Or maybe they haven’t blessed us? I can’t speak for anyone else here at MS, but personally, I find the song pretty disappointing. The chorus, which has a distinctly Motörhead-esque vibe, is pretty cool, but the rest is the wrong side of hard rock; I mean, call me crazy, but parts of this song are not that far removed from something like Powerman 5000. It’s just not my cup of tea.
That being said, I always appreciate a reminder that we’re all marching towards our demise. There’s a comforting feeling.
