Dave Mustaine Says There’s Going to be a Megadeth Video Game
Following in the footsteps of Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Judas Priest, and Dream Theater, Megadeth are planning to reach their very own video game.
Dave Mustaine broke the news during a recent interview for the New York Stock Exchange, where he somewhat mysteriously made an appearance last week:
“I’m working on a video game that encompasses a lot of the band’s history and a lot of little riffs that we’ve never used before, stuff like that.”
The big news here is that fans will get to hear “a lot of little riffs” the band has never used before, although who knows how much music that amounts to (or if it’s any good… if Mustaine didn’t reject songs like “Super Collider” and “Breadline,” I can’t imagine what he deemed “not good enough” to actually be released). As for whether or not the game itself will be any good, who knows. Assuming we get to play as Vic Rattlehead, that could be neat. If there are bonus points for scapegoating others whenever you lose, that might be fun, too. Guess we’ll just hafta wait and see!
In any case, this will be the first time Megadeth have beat Metallica to the punch with a new trend… although Metallica did once try to make a video game…
