New Helmut Lang Shirt Designs Parody Helmut

Well, this is bound to piss some people off a certain kind of metal fan.

Did you know it’s Fashion Week this week? Me neither! But it is! And an American designer named Shayne Oliver debuted his new line for Helmut Lang… which includes these Helmet-inspired shirts and hoodies:

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Boy, I bet those Helmut Lang people made these silly shirts ridiculously expensive, too.” But you’re thinking wrong! At a mere $295 per hoodie and $150 per t-shirt, these clothes were clearly designed to target the working class.

I honestly don’t mind the co-opting of metal designs in mainstream culture — imitation is the highest form of flattery and all that — but I seriously think anyone who pays $150 for a new t-shirt should get one good, swift kick to the genitals. Just on principle. That is a TON of money for a shirt. Fuck.
