Here’s a Song Played in Double Drop-B Tuning (Rob Scallon feat. Jeff Loomis, Ola England and Others)
Rob Scallon tells MetalSucks by email that the following song was recorded two years ago, before the whole “how low can you go” craze was beat into the ground.
But here it is anyway, because 1) a 9-string drop-tuned to B1 is still hilarious and REALLY FUCKING LOW, 2) Jeff Loomis, Leah Woodward, Ola Englund and Garrett Pters all contribute guitar solos to the track, and 3) the song is quite good! It’s, like, an actual song… not just an experiment in tuning with little focus.
The song is called “Rogue,” and appears on Scallon’s own solo album The Scene is Dead, released earlier this year; stream and order it here.
