Kirk Hammett Reveals His Favorite Hardwired Song To Play Live
I don’t know why, but I never thought that Kirk Hammett would ever begin a sentence with “Bruh.” But here we are.
Regardless, in a great new interview with CFOX, Kirk revealed his favorite Hardwired song to perform live (transcription courtesy of Ultimate Guitar):
“I really like playing ‘Halo on Fire.’ There’s just something about that song that just like… We established a mood really quickly, and it seems like the audience is with us every step of the way. Because when we get to the chorus, [the audience] is singing the chorus with us. It’s cool. It’s a really cool, fun song to play on guitar as well.”
Kirk says they will be bringing back some of their older music and some of their personal favorites in their next North American tour, which he mentions will be in closed venues rather than stadiums.
“Halo on Fire” is alright, but I don’t know if anything could be as fun as playing “One” on one of those huge drum kits they pulled out for this tour. What else would you do with one of the most popular songs of all time?
You can watch the interview with Kirk below. He was also asked a little about learning to play the guitar from Joe Satriani, as well as his horror movie memorabilia exhibition, which is the first in the world of its kind, showcasing more than 150 items from his own personal collection.
