Quicksand Announce First New Album in More Than Twenty Years; Check Out the First Single Here

Not-quite-hot-on-the-heels of announcing their first tour in five years, Quicksand have now announced that they’ll release Interiors — their first new album since 1995 — later this year, and premiered the first single from that album, “Illuminant.” I’m not exactly a Quicksand scholar, but I really dig it… it’s more melodic than the material for which the band is most known, but that doesn’t mean it lacks oomph. It’s a solid mix of being catchy and aggro.

Will it be embraced by diehard Quicksand fans who have been waiting for new music the band since Bill Clinton was in office? Like I said, I’m not the world’s foremost academic on Quicksand, so I really don’t know. I hope they find it worth the wait.
