Ivan Moody is Back in Five Finger Death Punch… Again

0

No strangers to in-fighting and drama, it appears Five Finger Death Punch is back with frontman Ivan Moody after his announcement back in June that he was leaving the band. The June incident came just a couple of months after he announced in a radio interview that ““Death Punch and I have kind of come to a crossroads.” The reunion happened last night at the Illinois State Fair and garnered plenty of attention from fans on Instagram and the band’s Five Finger Death Punch UK Knuckleheads Facebook page.

Apparently Moody suffers from problems with addiction, which he outlined in a longer statement that appeared on Loudwire back in June:

“I am embarrassed and ashamed to admit that I have fallen off the wagon again. I was on shaky ground prior to our performance in Tilburg, and although a lot of the events of that show were out of my control, the shame of not delivering pushed me over the edge. It would not be fair to my bandmates or my fans to continue to perform in my current condition. One of the worst parts of addiction is the loneliness you feel, so having the support of my band and all the knuckleheads is what drives me. I am committed to getting better so I can get back out on stage as soon as possible.”

This band is a pretty easy target for mockery (especially elsewhere on this very site) but I can’t knock the dude for being open about his struggles. If opening up about whatever he’s going through–dramatic as it may seem at times–helps any of his fans cope with similar situations, good on him. If you or anyone you know is going through alcoholism, here are some resources you can check out for help.
