Hatebreed are Planning an Anniversary Tour for Both Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire and Perseverance
If Jamey Jasta is to be believed — and why the hell wouldn’t he? — Hatebreed are planning a joint anniversary tour on which they’ll be celebrating both the 20th anniversary of their debut album Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire and the 15th anniversary of their 2002 sophomore release Perseverance. Jasta made a brief mention of these plans during the most recent episode of his podcast, with Valient Thorr’s Valient Himself as the special guest.
I don’t know exactly how a tour celebrating two albums would work — rather than play them both in full, perhaps they’ll play a “greatest hits” setlist comprised of their favorites from both albums? — but this should make Hatebreed fans MIGHTY excited. Perseverance, in particular, is an album I know many metal and hardcore fans who came of age in the early ’00s hold near and dear.
It is possible they’ll choose to play both albums in their entirety: Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire runs only 26:05, and Perseverance clocks in at just 38:33. That’s just over an hour of music, leaving the band time to play a few cuts from the rest of their catalogue as an encore.
We’ll keep you posted! In the meantime, relive the glory of both albums below in anticipation.
