Avenged Sevenfold Premiere “Runaway” Cover; Zacky Vengeance Sings, The Vandals’ Warren Fitzgerald Guests

Avenged Sevenfold’s latest addition to their ever-expanding album The Stage is a cover of Del Shannon’s “Runaway.” The track has the unique distinction of featuring guitarist Zacky Vengence on lead vocals, as well as a guest spot by Warren Fitzgerald from The Vandals.

What’s truly noteworthy about the track, however, is that the even though “Runaway” is from 1961, A7X still found a way to ape Guns N’ Roses: their version opens with a straight-up rip-off of the drum part that kicks off “You Could Be Mine.” They even stole the guitar feedback that accompanies said drums.
