Devil You Know Get a Re-Brand

You know Devil You Know? No you do not know Devil You Know. ‘Cause they are no longer called Devil You Know, according to this post on their FB page:

“We have officially changed our name to LIGHT THE TORCH! A full statement will be made soon and a new album is very close to being completed. It’s a new beginning and we couldn’t be more excited.”

The first song on the first Devil You Know album is called “A New Beginning,” so I guess they mean it’s going to be a new new beginning.

Which it won’t. I think the last time a band changed its name and went on to be successful under their new moniker was Lamb of God, and it didn’t hurt that when they were called Burn the Priest, 98% of the metal community didn’t know who they were. Even fewer people knew Sabbath when they were Earth or Death when they were Mantas.

But who knows. Maybe this will work and the band’s popularity will suddenly increase dramatically. I’ve been wrong before. Once. I think.
