Juicy Tour Rumor Alert: Periphery, Animals as Leaders, Astronoid
The PRP reports that three dates have leaked out for the coming fall boasting a lineup of Periphery, Animals as Leaders and new MetalSucks favorites Astronoid, which would be quite the juicy bill if accurate. And seeing as a) the dates have enough space between them that a tour seems necessary to connect the dots, and b) The PRP is never wrong about these things, it seems reasonable to assume this thing is gonna happen.
Periphery and Animals as Leaders are touring partners as old as time so it’s unsurprising to see them team up once again, but I love the addition of Astronoid here. Astronoid have nothing to do with the djent, or even progressive metal (more broadly speaking) scene whatsoever, yet teaming them up with these two bands totally works; there’s something about their music that fans of Periphery and Animals as Leaders will instantly connect with. This tour is a huge opportunity for them, and I expect they’ll convert new fans and kill every single night.
Here’s what we know so far:
11/19 Houston, TX – White Oak Music Hall
11/27 Portland, OR – McMenamins Crystal Ballroom
12/02 Denver, CO – Ogden Theatre
Expect an official announcement in the near future.
