Nutty as Ever, Russian “Turbo Polka” Band Russkaja Return with “Mare Mare”

“Mare Mare,” the new single from Austria’s self-proclaimed “turbo polka” out Russkaja, is a bit of a mellower number than we’ve heard from them in the past. It’s also missing a music video with super-trippy visuals. But that doesn’t mean the song itself isn’t still pretty crazy! I wouldn’t call it “turbo polka” so much as I’d call it “polka-ska,” but the mere (mere) fact that it would even occur to me to combine “polka” and “ska” kinda tells you how whacked out it is. Interesting stuff, to be sure.
