Napalm Death Streaming Rises Dramatically After Vocal Lesson with British Politician; Band Stands to Make Tens of Dollars
When Ed Miliband, former Leader of the Labour Party as well as Leader of the Opposition, recently had Napalm Death’s Barney Greenway on a BBC 2 radio program as a guest, it was clear what the politician got out of the deal: a free lesson in grindcore vocals. But what was in it for Napalm Death?
As it turns out, quite a bit:
I can reveal…Napalm Death streams surged 228% on Spotify after @Ed_Miliband grindcore tutorial. Public service roar-casting #napalmdeath

Metal Injection reports that Metro reports that Fildes’ report is accurate: “Spotify confirmed that number by comparing streams from Wednesday, June 21, with Wednesday, June 14.” Which is highly impressive! Usually a member of your band has to die to see that kind of abrupt increase.
Even more impressive: given what we know about Spotify’s streaming rates, Napalm Death stand to make fives, tens, perhaps even dozens of dollars. We’re talking the kind of a money a guy can use to put his kid through driving school. It’s a total game changer. Move over, Metallica, here comes Napalm Death!
