Synthwave Sunday: Wice, “Star Fighter” [Magnatron 2.0]

Those who loved the 2015 synthwave compilation Magnatron are in for a treat: it’s back! New, improved, and better than ever.

NewRetroWave, the label that curated Magnatron and releases dozens of bangin’ synthwave albums and tracks all year round, tells MetalSucks that Magnatron 2.0 will deliver a harder and heavier sound than its predecessor:

“Magnatron is back, but this time with a darker and more powerful vision. Boasting high quality compositions and harder hitting Retrowave beats, Magnatron 2.0 is the new emerging sound that strays from the norm and delves into new synth frontiers.”

“Star Fighter,” the first single to be released from Magnatron 2.0, certainly bodes well for the label’s bold claim: it goes hard as fuck, and it’s incredibly catchy to boot.
