“Fireworks”: Make Them Suffer Release New Song, are Not Katy Perry
Can someone help me figure out why I like Make Them Suffer? They have all the hallmarks of an eighth generation metalcore band, but I enjoyed last summer’s “Ether,” and now I’m enjoying their new single, “Fireworks.” This despite the fact that every ounce of my being is screaming, “HEY ASSHOLE! THIS BAND IS NOT FOR YOU!”
I think the aspect of the group’s music I appreciate is the dreamy, almost Deftones-esque quality. It’s just enough to set Make Them Suffer apart from the 3,612,803 other bands just like them in the world. Also, they actually can write a good song, whereas so many of their peers couldn’t find a decent hook in a bait and tackle shop.
Check out “Fireworks” via the below video (which is also pretty good!), then head to the comments section and tell me why I like this band (try to be more insightful than “Because you’re a moron with shit taste in music”). The song will appear on the band’s new album, Worlds Apart, which comes out July 28 on Rise. I’ve never actually listened to a full record by the band before, so I’m off to Spotify to see if they can write an entire album or are just good at coming up with a single here n’ there.
