So THAT’S what Northlane Sound Like
With apologies to Northlane, who have now released four full-length albums, I don’t think I have ever listened to their music before. Or more likely I did, but it didn’t make much of an impression on me ( or I was just a dick and let my preconceptions take hold).
That said, I’m glad I clicked open a press release announcing their new video for “Solar,” which comes from their recently surprise-released album Mesmer. Harmonically speaking this track reminds me a bit of TesseracT Lite — a little less groove, a little more melody than the UK techsters — and while I can’t say whether or not it’s representative of their sound as a whole (vague memory informs me that they’re usually heavier than this), it’s a really catchy tune and I’m enjoying it. The video is exquisitely pretty as well. A+++ WDBWA.
The moral of the story: you should sometimes click on shit with which you’re previously unfamiliar. “This one weird trick will flatten your belly” ads excepted.
