Watch Metallica Perform on Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show”

In case your social media feeds haven’t been completely inundated by unspectacular, identical, shaky, shitty cell phone video of Metallica’s recently-launched U.S. stadium tour over the past few days — and you need even more of that Metallica fix! — today’s your lucky day: the band performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, and naturally there’s already footage of it on the web. Pro-shot, no less!

Here they are performing “Now That We’re Dead” from their latest album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. This stripped-down version of ‘Tallica is nothing like the MASSIVE stage production they’re touring around the country right now — huge video screens, pyro, etc. — but I gather that’s what super-Met fans will like most about it: it’s intimate.
