Neither Tool Nor A Perfect Circle Will Release a New Album in 2017
It would appear that Maynard James Keenan is too busy making wine to give the fans what they want.
Okay okay okay, so that’s not fair to Maynard — we have no idea if this is really his fault or not. Still, it stinks.
We already knew that there wouldn’t be a new Tool album this year, since the band apparently have yet to enter the studio. But given that A Perfect Circle signed a new label deal and have debuted not one but two new songs during recent live performances, we did naturally assume that APC would drop a new release before 2018. But you know what they say about assuming — “When you assume, you make an ass out of Ume.” And poor Ume has, indeed, been made to look like an ass:

For the record, it’s been well over a decade since either band released any new material. It’s a testament to their fan bases that anyone is even still waiting for these albums. You think Five Finger Death Punch could more or less disappear for 11-13 years and have everyone clamoring for a fresh release? Most FFDP fans can’t even count to thirteen, let alone wait that many years.
So, looks like us fans are back to waiting not-so-patiently. Fine. But if there’s another Puscifer album before either Tool or APC finally put something out, I’m leading an #occupymaynardshouse protest until the singer gets his shit together.
