Here’s an Update on the New Behemoth Album
If you’re desperately waiting for the next Behemoth album, I’ve got some bad news for you: you’ve got at least another sixteen months or so to wait.
In a new interview with Rockhok, Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski reveals that although the band already has “sketches” of 10-13 new songs, they’re aiming for a release date in… the fall of 2018:
“I know it’s [a long] time [from now], but time’s flying and we’re super stoked about this new stuff. I like the approach with Behemoth too, because when I went from [doing the Me And That Man folk project] to do Behemoth songs, I was super hungry — I was hungry for doing radical sounds. And I really hope that it sounds different again, that it’s refreshing and it’s something redefining and rejuvenating in what we do with Behemoth — again. But let’s see, because maybe it’s too early to talk about it.”
The silver lining is that a) it will probably still have been a shorter wait for fans than the one in-between Evangelion and The Satanist (although in that case there were special circumstances), b) it will probably be worth the wait, and c) it will probably still beat the new Tool album to release. So there ya go. Always look on the bright side of life.
