Star Wars: The Force Awakens Actor Oscar Isaac is a Fan of Sleep’s Dopesmoker

Sleep revealed an interesting little tidbit on their Facebook account yesterday. Oscar Isaac, star of such films as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ex-Machina, Inside Llewyn Davis, and X-Men: Apocalypse, is apparently a pretty big fan of Dopesmoker, Sleep’s one-track stoner masterpiece.

The actor revealed this information in a recent NME piece entitled “Soundtrack of My Life,” and claimed he listens to it when he really wants to “wallow.” Wallow in what exactly — awesomeness? Here’s the full statement:

“This stoner metal album is actually just one epic, grinding track. I’ll listen to this when I really just want to wallow, man. I call it ‘sludge metal’ or ‘metal meets Gregorian chants.’ It’s real head music, if you know what I mean.’”

I do know what you mean! Serious Props to Isaac; looking at the entirety of the interview, it’s clear that he has good taste in music. He also probably just educated a whole mess of people about sludge/stoner metal as a genre.
