Listen: Artificial Brain’s “Static Shattering” is Shattering, Not Static

“Static Shattering” is the third song we’ve heard from the new Artificial Brain album, Infrared Horizon, after the title track and “Synthesized Instinct,” and I think it’s my favorite so far. Which is really saying something, because everything we’ve heard so far has been gnarly. But there’s something about “Static Shattering” that just tickles me in the spot I like to be tickled. It constantly feels like the band is about to go right off the rails, kinda like Portal, but more dynamic (or, dare I say… less static). It’s really, really great; I’m in the middle of my third listen as I type this. No joke.
