Howard Jones (Devil You Know, Ex-Killswitch Engage) Teams Up with Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork) for New Project

Peter Wichers has been mostly silent on the musical front since leaving Soilwork (for the second time) in 2012. During his first absence from the band between 2005 and 2008 he did some production work — on Warrel Dane’s solo album Praises to the War Machine, amongst others — but I’m not sure to what extent he’s done any of that during his most recent break from the stage. I do know he’s been working as a product rep for Fender’s metal specialty brands, among them Jackson, Charvel and EVH, so at least he’s still in the scene in some way.

But now this: MetalSucks just got a press release that Wichers is teaming up with Devil You Know and ex-Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones for a new project. Here’s the entirety of the press release:

Just before DEVIL YOU KNOW get to crackin’ on the upcoming album, Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage, Blood Has Been Shed) made a visit to NC. BBQ and studio time for his new project with Peter Wichers of Soilwork fame. Everybody ready for a fun 2017?

DEVIL YOU KNOW will commence song-writing for their much-anticipated third full-length album this month.

And that’s it, along with the above photo. Pretty exciting, though, right? Wichers is one of the unheralded geniuses of all time in the melodic death metal genre, and Jones’ voice is absolutely iconic. This should be a fun one. We’ll keep you updated.
