Hail of Bullets Call it Quits
Dutch death metallers Hail of Bullets are throwing in the towel. Why? Don’t ask, ’cause they ain’t telling:
“THE WAR IS OVER… IT IS DONE!
“With sadness in our hearts, we hereby inform you that we have decided to pull the plug on Hail of Bullets. The patient had been suffering from illness for a few years already. We thought we had cut out the disease a few years ago, but apparently the tumor was more widespread than we had expected.
“There are no immediate plans to resurrect the corpse…
“PS: personal messages/questions about this situation will not be answered. This is it, and both you and us will have to deal with that…”
The group parted ways with their most well-known member, Martin Van Drunen (Asphyx), in 2015. We can assume that this is “the disease” the band thought they had “cut out” a few years ago. Bolt Thrower’s Dave Ingram was subsequently announced as Van Drunen’s replacement, but clearly that didn’t work out — Ingram never even recorded with the band.
Honestly, I was never that into HoB, but I know plenty of respectable people who were. So I mourn for your mourning. Group hug in the comments section.
