Danny Carey Allegedly Says New Tool Album Coming “Pretty Soon”

As usual, I’d advise you to take this with a grain of salt. But given how the slow-moving creation of the new Tool album has become a spectator sport, this seemed worth mentioned.

Tool’s Danny Carey sat in with a Canadian Genesis cover band — no, seriously — called The Musical Box at The Saban Theater in Beverly Hills this past Sunday, Feburary 26… and during his introduction, vocalist Denis Gagné says, “He just told me this afternoon that the band is gonna be releasing a new album pretty soon. “The band” presumably being Tool. Or I dunno, maybe The Band are getting back together.

Watch the clip below. Even if Carey was misquoted or “soon” turns out to mean 2020, at least you’ll get the watch him crush it on the drums.
