Bad Brains Frontman H.R.: Brain Surgery “Went Well”
As previously reported, Bad Brains frontman H.R. (Paul Hudson) underwent brain surgery yesterday for a condition called ‘SUNCT’ (Short-lasting Unilateral Neuralgiform headache with Conjunctival injection and Tearing), which randomly causes cluster headaches of such immense pain that it is often known as “Suicide Syndrome.” Today, we’re pleased to report that according to the filmmakers behind an in-the-works documentary about H.R., the surgery was a success:
Which is not to say that H.R. is now “cured.” According to Metal Insider, “there’s a two month recovery period before they know if [the surgery has] completely worked.” So we all need to keep our fingers crossed, throw a penny in a well, sacrifice a goat to the Dark Lord — whatever it is you do to try and tip the odds in your favor.
You should also donate to H.R.’s ongoing crowdfunding campaign to help cover medical costs. ‘Cause unfortunately, the dude is gonna have to pay his doctors regardless of whether or not his headaches now go away. Actually, maybe do that before you do the goat thing.
