You Can Own Kirk Hammett’s Old Jaguar for Just $35,100

Got an extra thirty five grand laying around after your purchase of Kirk Hammett’s $16 million San Francisco home?

Then you might consider buying this 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5 2+2. The vehicle, which is for sale on eBay, was originally opalescent silver blue but was repainted black with a black interior and is said to be “mechanically sound” and in “excellent” condition. Although the listing says Hammett was a former owner, it doesn’t say when he owned the car, so it’s not clear whether there’s any possibility of finding one of his thinning curly hairs wedged between the seat cushions. No matter, though: Hammett’s attachment to the vehicle has surely increased the sale’s visibility (hey, here we are covering it).

The bidding on the eBay auction is currently at $35,100, with 34 bids having been placed and one day, three hours remaining as of this writing. The reserve price (the bid amount at which the buyer is obligated to sell the item) has not yet been met.
