Listen: Six Feet Under’s “The Separation of Flesh from Bone” Will Not Be Very Nice to You Personally
Is it just me, or does the new Six Feet Under track, “The Separation of Flesh from Bone,” sound like another tune’s bridge section stretched out to an entire song? And then, the bridge section sounds like another song’s main riff? Maybe this was done on purpose. Maybe “Separation” is a deconstructionist exploration of the form.
Which wouldn’t really change the fact that the song kinda represents the worst of Six Feet Under: simple and boring and full of Chris Barnes making dinosaur noises that may or may not be actual words. We’ve heard some decent material from SFU’s new album, Torment. But this ain’t that.
Let Chris Barnes treat you the way he says Cannibal Corpse treated him by listening to “The Separation of Flesh from Bone” below. Torment drops February 24 on Metal Blade. Pre-order it here.
