Listen: I Did an Audio Commentary for The Decline of Western Civilization II: The Metal Years with The Metal Injection Livecast

Penelope Spheeris’ The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years may be the single best movie ever made about heavy metal. It’s something every metal fan should watch at least once; from the infamous drunken pool interview with Chris Holmes to the parade of young musicians you’ve never heard of swearing up and down that they’re gonna be famous someday to a rad live performance by Megadeth to not-so-rad live performances by Faster Pussycat and Lizzy Borden, the flick truly has it all.

Which is why I was so stoked when our pals at The Metal Injection Livecast recently invited me to join them in the recording of a audio commentary for the film. Whether you’re looking to learn some stuff about the movie and the bands in it or just make fun of Poison, KISS, Ozzy Osbourne, and 80s fashion, our commentary will (hopefully) enhance your appreciation of this classic.
