Behind the Scenes of Darkest Hour’s New Album Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora
Darkest Hour’s forthcoming album Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora seems to have an unstoppable momentum behind it. Both songs to be released so far — “Knife in the Safe Room” and “Timeless Numbers” — have been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from fans and critics alike. Are Darkest Hour about to have a moment? They certainly fucking deserve it, as pioneers of the NWOAHM movement who have been road-dogging it out for years.
The band documented the recording process of their new record, which they laid down with Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios in Massachusetts, and now they’ve released four short video episodes about the making of the album. It’s always fun to see first hand how different bands work, and these videos are no exception: you’ll find them fascinating whether you’re already familiar with the personalities in this band or not. For those familiar: it’s cool to see an appearance here from ex-guitarist Kris Norris, who collaborated and wrote with the band on this album.
Check out all four episodes below. Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora, which comes out March 10 on Southern Lord. You can pre-order physical copies here and digital editions here or here.
