New Alice in Chains Album Coming Later This Year
The PRP reports that bassist Mike Inez reports that Alice in Chains are in the studio even as you read this. Sez Inez to Framus & Warwick:
“Being in the studio for twenty hours a day isn’t fun, but it’s a great job. But we try to make that our clubhouse and separate that from the business, kind of. So we’re still in that… playing in the sandbox, kind of, for this new record anyways. We’re still getting together in the same city, and plugging in in the same room.
“Today is actually our first day [in the studio,] and I’m already late, ’cause I’m here talking to you [laughs], so it shows you how professional we still are.”
Alice in Chains are easily one of my favorite bands of all time. But while I thought Black Gives Way to Blue was terrific, I found The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here underwhelming. Still, I will always listen to a new AiC album all the way through at least twice, the same way I’ll always listen to a new Metallica album, until I die or the band stops making music. Hopefully this album will be stronger than the last.
Also, I know some very intelligent people who loved Dinosaurs, so fuck do I know anyway?
You can watch the full interview with Inez below. The record should be out later this year.
