Former Bathory Drummer Jonas Åkerlund’s Rammstein Concert Film to be Released in March
Rammstein are coming to a theater near you.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rammstein: Paris, a concert film directed by former Bathory drummer Jonas Åkerlund, will hit 350 theaters internationally on March 23. I’m assuming this will be a one-night only special event heralding a home video release, kinda like this past summer’s theatrical screenings of Mötley Crüe’s final show. It seems too-neat to be coincidental that March 23 is a Thursday… the day before new shit comes out.
The performance was shot over the course of two night at Paris’ Barcy Arena in 2012 using thirty cameras. “That gives you a massive amount of footage,” Åkerlund told The Hollywood Reporter, before adding, “Water is wet.”
You can check out a teaser for Rammstein: Paris below. Åkerlund, of course, is currently working on Lords of Chaos, about the genesis of the Norwegian black metal scene.
