Happy Hanukkah! Here are Some Hannukah-Themed Metal Songs.

When it comes to your old, cranky relatives’ tolerance for metal, Jews are perhaps even more baffled/horrified by metal than WASPS are. Which is why we recommend blasting an oldie but a goodie tonight as you Jews amongst the metal masses gather ’round the menorah for the festival of lights: Hanukkah Gone Metal!

Hanukkah Gone Metal was released in 2009 by the NYC band (where else?) Gods of Fire, and it still brings us just as much naches as it did back then. It’s got both metal versions of old classics (“Oh Hanukkah”) and Hanukkah-themed songs written just for the occasion (“The Quest for the Latke Oil”), filtered through a traditional heavy metal onslaught that’s just as epic and triumphant as you’d hope given the subject matter. That oil lasted for EIGHT days, man!!! That’s fucking metal.
