King 810 Cancel Detroit Show After Security Won’t Allow Them to Bring Guns Into the Venue

For the second time this month, King 810 have had to cancel a show for reasons pertaining to firearms.

Earlier this month, that decision was made for them when a Chicago venue caved to community pressure to cancel the gig. This time, it was King 810’s decision not to do the show:

I won’t pretend to know enough about Michigan state gun laws to comment on the legality of the venue’s decision.

I will say I think the statement “If this is where this country is headed. God damn.” is ridiculous. King 810 should know better than most that America is dealing with some really serious issues right now. Being able to have guns inside a concert venue is not one of those issues.

Then again, I guess it makes sense that King 810 would rather cancel their show than leave their guns in the van. This is, after all, the band that reacted to the Chicago cancellation by promising that “if anyone ever comes through the front door with automatic rifles, they’re not gonna be able to kill 150 people at a King show, they’ll probably be shot from the stage.” It’s just macho nonsense.
