Listen/Watch: Arch Enemy’s “Nemesis” Covered on the Cello
Cello covers are all the rage right now. This latest one, of Arch Enemy’s “Nemesis,” comes to us from an Emil Werstler-lookalike who calls him Celloshredder. Honestly, I don’t like it as much as the cello covers we’ve heard from Raphael Weinroth-Browne (one of Opeth’s “Harvest,” one of Lamb of God’s “Walk with Me in Hell”). Weinroth-Browne’s talent is maintaining the song’s recognizability while making it sound like an honest-to-Amadeus piece of classical music; Celloshredder’s Arch Enemy cover, meanwhile, just sounds like someone did something slightly different with the lead guitars. Not as interesting.
