Rattgate: Bobby Blotzer Will Continue to Tour as “Ratt” in Spite of Court Decision
Court decisions? Who needs no stinkin’ court decisions!
Despite the rule of law having determined that ex-Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer does not have the rights to tour under the name “Ratt” — and the other three members of the Ratt namesake (Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini and Juan Croucier) having booted Blotzer from their business entity — Blotzer has vowed to continue to tour under his former band’s name.
Blotzer still controls the official Ratt website, and has made use of it to post a statement about his intentions:
Don’t believe everything you’re hearing. REAL news is coming very soon.
DECEMBER SHOWS
We can’t wait to RATT -n- Roll with you this month!
This Saturday, December 3, in Spokane, WA.
December 9th, we have an arena show in Amarillo, TX!
December 17th takes us to Corbin, KY, where we have another arena show.
We close out 2016 at Mt. Pleasant, MI, on December 29th.
More dates are scheduled for 2017!RATT
The included ticket links — which we have removed, because fuck that — all list “Ratt” as appearing on the bill (instead of”Bobby Blotzer, formerly of Ratt,” etc.).
We’re not sure what legal course the real Ratt has in preventing Blotzer from playing, but we’re sure we’ll find out soon enough. This man must be stopped! It’s not only disgraceful to Ratt’s legacy, but it’s embarrassing to him. Pack it in, Bobby.
