Here’s Footage of Phil Labonte Filling in for Ivan Moody in Five Finger Death Punch
Last night Five Finger Death Punch announced that frontman Ivan Moody would be leaving the band’s current tour to get well after he suffered a meltdown at a concert in Connecticut last week, and that All That Remains gun-toter / libertarian instructor / auto-tune purveyor Phil Labonte would be filling in for him on the tour’s remaining eight dates. Sixx:A.M. vocalist James Michael and As Lions‘ Austin Dickinson have also pledged to help fill in.
Labonte’s first show with the band took place last night in Philadelphia, and naturally there’s already footage floating around the Internet.
We’ve been harsh on Labonte’s vocal abilities in the past, but… yeah, no, I’m sorry, although I commend Labonte for stepping up to help a friend in need, when the clean vocal part kicks in you’re gonna cringe. This is just really not good, not at all. I haven’t seen FFDP live so I can’t speak to Moody’s singing abilities when he hasn’t got the benefit of studio trickery… but, well, take a listen for yourself:
The band’s fans seem to having a helluva time, though, so at least there’s that.
GUNS! SECOND AMENDMENT!
